Hybrid Intelligent Decision-Making: Integrating AI and MCDM for Real-World Applications
Abstract
As decision-making environments grow increasingly complex, uncertain, and data-driven, there is a pressing need for advanced methodologies that can support structured, transparent, and adaptive decisions. To address these challenges, this special session focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques with Multiple Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM), aiming to enhance the modeling, analysis, and resolution of complex real-world problems.
AI techniques such as machine learning, soft computing, and simulation offer powerful tools for learning from data, handling uncertainty, and optimizing outcomes. Meanwhile, MCDM provides a principled, value-sensitive framework for structuring decision problems involving multiple, often conflicting, criteria. Their integration forms a hybrid intelligent decision-making paradigm, combining the strengths of data-driven learning with human-centric value modelling.
Topics
This session seeks contributions that explore innovative combinations of AI and MCDM across methodological, computational, and application-driven perspectives. Topics of interest include:
● AI-augmented MCDM/MCDA models,
● Integration of fuzzy logic, neural networks, or evolutionary algorithms with MCDM,
● Simulation-based and agent-based decision models,
● Human-centered and group decision-making supported by intelligent systems,
● Explainable and interpretable AI-MCDM frameworks.
We particularly welcome contributions demonstrating real-world applications with measurable impact in areas such as:
● Environmental sustainability and energy systems,
● Healthcare and public health decision support,
● Urban planning, mobility, and smart cities,
● Supply chain and logistics optimization,
● Finance, risk analysis, and economic modeling,
● Education and public policy.
